Montez Ford Reacts To WWE In-Ring Return On SmackDown

Street Profits

Montez Ford says it feels good to be back after returning to action on the most recent episode of SmackDown.

Prior to his return, Ford hadn’t competed on SmackDown since June 11th after in storyline being taken out by Otis. The former Tag Team Champion had initially beaten Chad Gable via Disqualification before being taken out by the big man. In reality, Ford reportedly underwent voluntary surgery which was not related to an injury.

While Ford’s partner Angelo Dawkins competed in singles matches in his absence, the multi-time Tag Team Champions reunited in the ring on August 6th. Joining forces once more the pair made short work of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

Speaking after the match, both men were pumped up to be back together.

Montez Ford sang that he felt “pretty good” before adding that the team are still all about that smoke.

Elsewhere on the show, it was confirmed that Bianca Belair will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks at SummerSlam.

Banks opened the show explaining her beatdown of Belair from the week before. As tensions rose, the huge rematch was made official for August 21st.

It was also announced that Edge will face Seth Rollins for the first time ever at the summer spectacular. The two men have been on a collision course since Rollins cost Edge the Universal Championship at Money In The Bank.

The pair came to blows in the weeks after the show, with Edge finally running out of patience on SmackDown.

The Hall of Famer verbally blasted Rollins before he appeared via satellite. Edge challenged Rollins to a match at SummerSlam, but the former Shield member said he would have to think about it. Rollins discussed the WWE legend’s history of neck injuries warning him about what would happen if he curb stomped his head into the mat.

Edge responded by saying that Rollins wanted to walk in his shoes, but couldn’t fill them, before calling him ‘Edge-lite.’ At this Rollins snapped and accepted the challenge.
