Montez Ford tricked Bianca Belair into thinking The Usos weren’t twins.
The Street Profits have a date with The Usos this weekend at SummerSlam. The two teams have been battling one another for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships since the controversial finish at Money In The Bank.
For many years, fans and the commentary team had difficulty telling Jimmy and Jey Uso apart. At one point, Montez Ford used the duo’s appearance as a funny rib against his fiancé, Bianca Belair.
Speaking with Josh Martinez on Superstar Crossover, the Raw Women’s Champion admitted that she thought The Usos just looked alike, and weren’t actually twins. That information was given to her by Ford, who just wanted to mess with her.
“The only other embarrassing moment I’ve had is my husband [Montez Ford] tried to rib me when I first got to the main roster. I was talking about the Usos and I said something about them being twins. He said, ‘They’re not twins.’ ‘What?’ ‘No, they’re not twins.’ ‘Really? They look just alike, that’s crazy.’ I was in the locker room one day talking and I was like, ‘I can’t believe the Usos aren’t twins.’
They looked at me like, ‘What are you talking about? They are twins.’ I’m like, ‘My husband told me they weren’t twins!’ It was probably a couple of months. I was so adamant. ‘No, they’re not. They’re not twins.’ ‘What are you talking about? Yes, they are.’ ‘Okay, never mind.’ I go to my husband and am like, ‘Why did you tell me that?’ ‘I don’t know, I was just messing with you.’ ‘I actually said it out loud in front of people,'”
Of course, now everyone knows Jimmy and Jey are the closest brothers in WWE. The team has found a new sense of purpose after accepting the leadership of the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. With Reigns’ watching their every move both in and out of the ring, Jimmy and Jey are motivated to cling to their Undisputed Tag Team Championships.
Ford and his partner Angelo Dawkins have a chance to avenge their loss to the brothers at Money In The Bank. Although The Usos walked away still champs, Ford’s shoulder was up during the pin-fall. The controversial finish led to the announcement of WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett as the special referee for the rematch this weekend.
