AEW World Champion MJF is no stranger to courting controversy, often calling out fans and fellow wrestlers alike on social media. Now, the star finds himself embroiled in an online war of words with English UFC star Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett.
In a series of comments on Instagram, the two went back and forth after Pimblett accused the AEW champion of not knowing anything about MMA and challenging him to a fight.
“@the_mjf I do have Knowledge about mma tho don’t I? Which you have zero knowledge about so let’s not go there. If u wanna have a real fight let’s sort it with the @ufc if not pipe down! Oh tell ur boss to sign me up when yous come to Fulham’s ground I be ready son”
MJF responded, tagging both Dana White and AEW President Tony Khan as he mentioned the company’s upcoming London debut.
“@theufcbaddy hey bud. @aew has a show coming up in your neck of the woods. If you’re man enough I’ll gladly show you how real I am. @tonyrkhan @danawhite”
The Baddy fired back, accusing the AEW Champion of not being able to pass a drug test.
“@the_mjf I’ve just said that you spaceman. don’t act asif ur calling for it I’ve just told u straight when yous come to Fulham’s ground (craven cottage) get ur boss @tonyrkhan to message my boss @danawhite and see what we can sort because I know full well you won’t pass a USDA drug test to fight in the @ufc”
Maxwell Jacob Friedman then refuted Pimblett’s claims about his physique, saying that he is 100% natural. He also called the UFC star a “dollar store Conor McGregor.”
“@theufcbaddy unlike you I’m 100% natural and I’m also 100% original. Unlike you. You’re dollar store Conor McGregor talking, Will from strangers things looking ass wouldn’t last two seconds in my world. #Betterthanyou See you in London.”
MJF posted screenshots of the exchange on Twitter with the simple caption “See you around ‘baddy.'”

MJF Won The AEW World Championship At AEW Full Gear
After winning the Casino Ladder Match at AEW All Out, MJF was granted a guaranteed shot at the AEW World Championship, and he declared that he would cash in that opportunity at AEW Full Gear against Jon Moxley.
The main event bout between the two men saw the 26 year old victorious, making him the youngest AEW World Champion in the company’s history. However, despite his promise to earn the title on his own, his victory came after William Regal turned his back on Blackpool Combat Club member Jon Moxley and handed brass knuckles to Friedman, who used the weapon out of view of the referee.
AEW Full Gear also saw Jamie Hayter defeat Toni Storm to become the new Interim AEW Women’s Champion.
