The worlds of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts continue to clash as AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman has made some strong comments about MMA. He called Paddy Pimblett a “dollar store Connor McGregor that couldn’t last two seconds in a wrestling ring” and also claimed that he’d have an easy time knocking the MMA fighter out.
Now it appears that the AEW World Champion will be backing up his words with a potential in-person encounter with the fighter at UFC 282.
“See you in Vegas” – MJF
ESPN’s Marc Raimond confirmed on Twitter yesterday that MJF will be attending UFC 282 in person tonight. MJF also tweeted out the above statement to Paddy ahead of the event to tease a possible confrontation between the two of them.
UFC 282 takes place tonight at 10pm EST out of Las Vegas. On that card, Paddy Pimplett will be fighting Jared Gordon. If he wins his fight, Pimplett will continue his undefeated streak in UFC and would advance his overall professional fight record to 20 wins and 3 losses.
Meanwhile, MJF’s next big wrestling match will take place on the December 14th edition of Dynamite, known as Winter is Coming. On that show, MJF will defend his AEW World Championship against Ricky Starks.
Also scheduled for that same show is the fourth match in the Best of Seven Series between Death Triangle and The Elite, as well as the return of The House of Black stable following Malakai Black’s return to AEW.
