It’s been more than three months but MJF is back in AEW and he’s booked a date with new World Champion CM Punk.
MJF hadn’t been seen on AEW television since the June 1st edition of AEW Dynamite when he grabbed a live mic and verbally assaulted everyone and every thing associated with the company. His rant ended with a plea to AEW President Tony Khan to fire him before his mic was cut and he was chased into the crowd by CM Punk.
Since that day the trail on MJF had gone quiet, it seemed that no one had heard from the man who had seemingly turned his back on AEW. But at All Out, AEW’s prodigal son returned.
In the opening match of the night, the Casino Ladder Match, the ring was stormed by a group of men decked in black before one climbed to the top of the ladder and grabbed the casino chip. At this the group revealed themselves to be Stokely Hathaway and his new group of wrestlers.
With the crowd stunned the “Joker” entered to Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones and collected the chip from Hathaway to win the match.
Fast forward to a bloody main event and CM Punk had just defeated Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship when the lights dimmed and a voicemail played over the speakers. The voice on the recording could be heard asking someone to come back to the company.

The camera then played a clip of Punk talking about the devil before switching to the masked man from earlier in the show backstage. The figure faced away from the camera and removed their mask, before putting on a signature scarf. The mystery man was MJF.
The star then made his way to the top of the ramp to taunt CM Punk as the pay-per-view went off the air. Crucially with victory in the Casino Ladder Match, MJF now has a shot at the AEW World Champion, one CM Punk.
