On Dynamite MJF introduced the world to his new band of mercenaries, The Firm.
In the opening match of the September 14th edition of Dynamite Jon Moxley took on and defeated Sammy Guevara in the semi-finals in the ‘Tournament of Champions’ as he bids to regain the AEW World Title.
Following the victory MJF grabbed a microphone and marched to the ring, keen to address Moxley after the pair crossed words the previous week. The number one contender for the AEW World Championship wasted little time, and pulled few punches, as he verbally skewered his rival.
The Casino Ladder Match winner said Moxley was a joke, accused him of playing a character and took a jab at his battle with alcoholism. After also sending a warning to Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho, MJF introduced everyone to his best friend Stokely Hathaway and The Firm, the group of misfits who helped him win the Casino Ladder Match at All Out.
Hathaway said that he had talked MJF out of quitting AEW as he would only be giving fans what they wanted. He added that he and The Firm were on a retainer and would come together when needed by Friedman, otherwise they would go their separate ways.

He went on to explain that every move he’s made in AEW has been strategic, and that blackmail is what turns him on. At this he went down the line of his associates, embracing W Morrisey who he said wants to simply do whatever he wants, Lee Moriarty who wants to bring back the honour to the ROH Pure Championship, the Gunn Club who want tag team gold and Ethan Page who wants to win the All Atlantic Championship.
Hathaway closed by reiterating that the group are known as The Firm and you can run with them or from them.
