MJF has compared himself to WWE legends The Rock and John Cena while setting his sights on conquering Hollywood.
Following his explosive “pipe bomb” promo on the June 1st episode of AEW Dynamite MJF disappeared from television screens, not reappearing until All Out on September 4th.
During his time away it was reported that MJF held meetings in Los Angeles, seemingly with an eye on moving into Hollywood in the future. While the star himself has also made no secret of his desire to launch a movie career when he feels he has conquered the wrestling world.
Speaking during a recent interview with KFC Radio, the star compared himself to wrestlers-turned-actors such as The Rock, John Cena and Batista. He also confirmed that he held more meetings in LA over his future.
“I see myself acting, I see myself doing what (John) Cena, Batista, and Rock did. There are definitely a lot of feelers out there. I’ll actually be heading out to LA [Los Angeles] literally after Dynamite for a lot of meetings. There are definitely a lot of people interested in MJF. When I walk into a room, when you listen to me talk, it’s pretty obvious that I have something that we call in the industry, ‘it.’ You either got ‘it’ or you don’t have ‘it.’ I feel a person in my industry hasn’t had the amount of droves of ‘it’ that I’ve had since Cena, Rock, and Batista.”
After returning at All Out and winning the Casino Ladder Match with a little help from The Firm, MJF guaranteed himself a shot at the AEW World Championship. Jon Moxley recently became the first three-time champion in AEW history with victory over Bryan Danielson at Dynamite Grand Slam.
