Missing WWE Championship Resurfaces During NFL Pro Bowl

WWE Universal Championship on display at WWE SummerSlam 2016

At the WrestleMania 38 launch party, Snoop Dogg was presented with a special gold WWE Championship belt.

However, back in December, the Hip Hop legend revealed that the belt had gone missing. The title reappeared with Guillermo from the Jimmy Kimmel Show but then disappeared once again.

But now the title has at least made it back into the same building as the original owner. WWE shared an update on February 5th from the NFL’s Pro Bowl event which saw Pete Davidson posing with the title. Davidson was on hand to judge the Best Catch competition while Snoop Dogg was also involved at the event.

It is unclear how Davidson got hold of the title belt, or if it was handed back to Snoop Dogg.

Pat McAfee was also working at the Pro Bowl calling the action alongside Kirk Herbstreit. McAfee recently returned to WWE television at the Royal Rumble calling the action with Michael Cole and Corey Graves. The former NFL star stepped away from SmackDown in September to take on a new role with ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast team.

Undisputed WWE Universal Title To Be Defended At Elimination Chamber

Back in the land of WWE, the real Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will be on the line at Elimination Chamber. Champion Roman Reigns made his most recent defence at the Royal Rumble, but the biggest story took place after the match.

After the bell, Reigns and The Bloodline attacked Owens and handcuffed him to the ring ropes. With the beatdown in full swing, Reigns went to hit the defenceless challenger with a chair before Sami Zayn stepped in. This led to Zayn being handed the chair, but instead of attacking Owens, the conflicted star hit Reigns before being beaten down. Although Jey Uso walked out rather than taking part.

On the following episode of SmackDown, Sami Zayn attacked Reigns from behind and demanded a match for the gold. As the show went off the air Reigns confirmed that he’ll face Zayn at Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Canada on February 18th.
