Miro has been announced for an upcoming pro wrestling event one week on from his AEW release.
As announced on social media on February 15th, the former TNT Champion is set to appear at the upcoming Qatar Pro Wrestling [QPW] SuperSlam III show on February 21st and 22nd in Doha. It is unknown if The Redeemer will be in action at the show or will just be making an appearance.
Other names announced for the show include Bobby Lashley, Nic Nemeth, Mustafa Ali, Mick Foley and Jushin Thunder Liger. Six matches will take place on each day of the event with more than 30 names set to make appearances at the show.
At the time of writing, the only advertised match for the show is Tommy Billington vs. Jonathan Gresham. In an interview with The Peninsula Qatar, QPW Chairman Ali Ahmad Al Marafi said the following about the upcoming show:
“Super Slam III represents a crowning achievement in our journey to elevate professional wrestling in the Middle East. We are not just organizing matches; we are creating unforgettable experiences that showcase Qatar’s capability to host world-class sporting events.”
The former TNT Champion has not competed for over a year, last wrestling at Worlds End 2023. At the show, Miro defeated Andrade in what was also Andrade’s final appearance for the company. In the summer of 2024, it was reported that the Bulgarian wrestler asked for his release.
Miro Among AEW Releases
On February 10th, news broke that Miro, Malakai Black and Ricky Starks had all been released from their contracts following their sudden removals from the company’s roster page. While The Redeemer has been announced for the upcoming show in Qatar and Ricky Starks made a shock appearance on NXT the next night, there have been no updates as to what is next for Black. However, it has been previously speculated that both Black and Miro will make their returns to WWE soon.
