Miro To Defend TNT Championship At AEW Double Or Nothing

Miro

It has been announced that Miro will defend his newly won TNT Championship at AEW Double or Nothing against Lance Archer.

On the most recent episode of Dynamite, Miro also laid down a challenge for the May 25th edition of AEW’s flagship show. It has since been revealed that Miro’s challenger will be Dante Martin.

There is a sense of things coming full circle for Lance Archer as he faced Cody Rhodes to crown the first ever TNT Champion at last year’s Double or Nothing. On that occasion Archer came up short so the Murderhawk will be hoping to go one better on May 30th.

Miro won the TNT Championship in devastating style on May 12th.

After a punishing 11 and a half minutes, Miro claimed his very first championship in AEW after locking in the Game Over – causing the referee to call for the bell after Darby refused to submit. After the match, Lance Archer appeared on the stage alongside Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts and stared Miro down as the show went off the air.

The win marked Miro’s first championship victory in almost two and a half years, as he last held the United States Championship in 2019 for just 40 days before losing it to Shinsuke Nakamura on the Royal Rumble Kick-Off. The man then known as Rusev previously held the same title twice before, losing it to Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions 2016 and John Cena at WrestleMania 31.
