Miro AEW Debut Labelled A Disaster Backstage

Miro cuts a promo

According to Bryan Alvarez from Wrestling Observer Live, despite picking up a victory, Miro’s debut match in AEW Dynamite was deemed a “disaster” by some backstage.

The Best Man teamed with Kip Sabian to take on Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela in a match laden with mistakes.
During the bout, Miro took a fall over the ropes landing awkwardly on his leg. Clearly in pain, the former Rusev struggled through the rest of the match – favouring his leg. Kip Sabian was also lucky not to suffer a serious injury when he was thrown over the barricade – taking a nasty fall onto the concrete.

Bryan Alvarez:

“It was pretty much a disaster, I thought he tore out his knee or tore out his ankle. I mean Joey Janela almost got killed, Kip Sabian almost got killed. Miro was injured I mean dude it was a disaster and I heard the term, “It was a disaster,” from people in AEW so I mean it is what it is” [sic]

Miro made his debut two weeks ago on Dynamite as The Best Man to a great reaction from the socially-distancing crowed in attendance.

Fans even broke into chants of “Miro Day” alluding to the “Rusev Day” chants that became popular during his tenure in WWE.
Though any injury details have yet to be released, AEW will be hoping that their new signing hasn’t pick up anything too serious.
