Miro has confirmed his AEW status after being absent from TV for a number of weeks.
The Redeemer last competed at Worlds End in December, defeating Andrade El Idolo in what would be El Idolo’s final match with the company before going on to return to WWE. A recent report from Fightful Select noted that Miro had been absent from TV tapings as of late and was not at the premiere for Dune 2 despite his wife CJ Perry being in attendance.
Ahead of AEW Revolution, Tony Khan elaborated on his decision to cancel the Meat Madness match, which had Wardlow, Lance Archer and Powerhouse Hobbs as confirmed entrants. Khan revealed on a media call that Miro and Keith Lee were set to be entrants in the match but were both out.
When a fan posted Khan’s comments to social media, the former TNT Champion responded that he had been dealing with an injury since September and underwent treatment in January:
I’ve been injured since September and i got medical attention in January. Sorry he wasn’t aware of it
Miro Has Previously Discussed Extended Time Away
With no announcements on The Redeemer’s status prior to the media call and social media post, it wasn’t clear as to the nature of Miro’s time off-screen. The former TNT Champion had been previously absent from the ring from All Out 2022 to the debut edition of Collision in June 2023. Shortly after his long-awaited return, The Redeemer commented on the lengthy hiatus:
“It sucks. It sucks. Just looking for answers and not getting any. It’s not a good place. Not just me, but overall as a human being, when you have no answers to all these questions, it just eats you inside. I have quite a long time to eat myself. Even though I’m 260 pounds, I ate quite a bit. I’m aching to come back and to find out what’s going on and what’s happening,”
In recent news, Miro and CJ Perry have confirmed they have separated.
