Survivor Series has come and gone once again without too much incident however a new report says there was something of a “freak out” backstage at the event.

The battle for brand supremacy once again landed at WWE’s November spectacular with WWE hosting the clashes for dominance between Raw and SmackDown.

Two traditional 5 vs. 5 Survivor Series matches took place with Team Raw squeaking out victories in both of those in a dominant display for the red brand. Seth Rollins took the victory as the sole survivor for Raw’s men’s team while Bianca Belair repeated the feat in the woman’s tag team bout.

Champions also clashed with Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defeating US Champion Damian Priest on the pre-show. Raw Tag Team Champions Randy Orton and Riddle defeated The Usos in what was a record-breaking match for The Viper.

In the main event, SmackDown’s Universal Champion Roman Reigns disposed of the WWE Champion Big E, and the most hotly anticipated bout opened the pay-per-view with Becky Lynch picking up a disputed victory over Charlotte Flair.

While the event went without a major hitch – egg-related thefts not included – Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that there was a “minor freak out” backstage due to the run time of the show.

The report states that Survivor Series was not to run later than 11.35 pm ET and time had slipped away somewhat before the main event. There was said to be some conjecture backstage as to why so much time was spent on the entrances for the men’s Survivor Series tag team bout but everything was able to be wrapped in the time allotted.
