Minnesota has officially thrown its hat in the ring to host WrestleMania 41.
With the Star Tribune reporting the submission of its bid, the highly-anticipated event is proposed to take place at the U.S. Bank Stadium, a prospect that has stirred considerable excitement within the state. Wendy Blackshaw, the president and chief executive officer of MNSE, expressed optimism about the bid, stating:
We are hopeful, and I hope we get it. It would be amazing.
Notably, Fightful Select’s report from July 2023 shed light on the extensive discussions within the WWE regarding Minneapolis as a potential location for WrestleMania 41 in 2025. This was reinforced by the revelation that Minneapolis city planners had discreetly disclosed this information to local media. While WWE officials confirmed Minneapolis as one of several interested cities, it was emphasised that U.S. Bank Stadium emerged as the favoured venue due to logistical considerations. The stadium’s ample seating capacity of over 73,000 and its climate-controlled dome were highlighted as pivotal factors in its favour.
Furthermore, the proactive efforts of securing non-Vikings-related events at U.S. Bank Stadium were underscored, with the WWE’s recognition of the venue as world-class.
