WrestleMania could be heading to Minneapolis in 2025.
CBS Minneapolis special contributor Patrick Kessler broke the news on April 28th that sources had informed him the City of Lakes is a finalist to host the 41st edition of the Showcase Of The Immortals.
“BREAKING:
Sources tell me Minneapolis is a finalist city for @WrestleMania 2025. This would be a HUGE get.“#WrestleMania drew 161,892 fans over two nights @SoFiStadium in Los Angeles earlier this month.”
However, Fighful Select has followed up the news by saying they have been told an announcement on the host city is not “imminent”.
Minneapolis is said to have shown interest in bidding for the event and sent representatives to this year’s show to see how it “came across and was run” in SoFi Stadium.
WWE does regard the city’s own US Bank Stadium, as a “world-class venue” and there is talk that they have been getting “more aggressive” in wanting to host events that aren’t related to Minneapolis’ NFL team, the Vikings.
If everything comes together and the event is held there, it will be the first time WrestleMania has ever been held in the state of Minnesota.
Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes “on the table” for WrestleMania 40
Before we get to 2025, however, the 40th edition of the annual spectacular is set to be held in Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.
According to Wrestle Votes via GiveMeSport, a huge rematch is a possibility for the show with a replay of Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes said to be “very much on the table”.
“I can say this. The rematch that’s at the forefront of everybody’s minds, Cody vs Roman, is very much on the table to main event in Philadelphia next year.”
The pair first clashed on the Grandest Stage Of Them All on April 2nd this year. To the shock of many, The Tribal Chief emerged victorious, taking out the Royal Rumble winner with a bit of help from Solo Sikoa and a massive Spear.
