Mike Tyson Returning To Wrestling

Mike Tyson

Boxing superstar and WWE Hall of Famer ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is set to make his stunning return to the world of pro wrestling this summer!

Mike Tyson was the heavyweight boxing star of the late eighties and the nineties as he dominated the scene to become undisputed World Heavyweight Champion for three years between 1987 and 1990.

Although a controversial figure, Tyson’s legend has lived on and he made his first foray into the world of pro wrestling that he has loved since he was a youngster in 1998. Mike Tyson was famously confronted by Stone Cold Steve Austin on an episode of Monday Night Raw, much to the chagrin of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

This led to Tyson joining Austin’s WrestleMania 14 opponent Shawn Michaels in DX but ‘Iron’ Mike turned the tables as he was the one who counted the pinfall on The Grandest Stage Of Them All to ensure Austin became WWE Champion for the very first time.

In recent years, Mike Tyson has been seen in AEW where he presented Cody Rhodes with the inaugural TNT Championship at 2020’s Double Or Nothing. Tyson later was involved in an on-screen confrontation with Chris Jericho and his Inner Circle before making up with the star after Jericho’s group shed their villainous ways.

Now for wrestling fans that have wanted to see Mike Tyson back involved in the world of wrestling, that wait is over. The Starrcast social media account has now confirmed TMZ’s report that Mike Tyson is set to tear Ric Flair to shreds but only in a verbal sense at The Roast of Ric Flair:

As first reported by @TMZ_Sports/@TMZ, legendary boxer @MikeTysonis coming to #STARRCAST to take part in The Roast of Ric Flair! Join us in Nashville or watch LIVE & ON DEMAND on@FiteTV!”

Ric Flair is the headline act at Starrcast this July as he will also compete in his final ever match at the age of 73 years old.

Starrcast runs over SummerSlam weekend in Nashville, Tennessee and the lineup for the convention includes many shows and stars fans won’t want to miss. Inside The Ropes’ Kenny McIntosh will be part of the festivities as he sits down with Bret Hart for a special 30 Years Later panel focussing on The Hitman’s iconic SummerSlam 1992 match against The British Bulldog.
