Mickie James has seemingly revealed that she retired and will not be returning to the ring.
Following the news that a tournament will get underway on the August 8th edition of Monday Night Raw to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions, Asuka has been on the look out for a new partner.
The Empress of Tomorrow has already held the belts on two occasions, but now appears to have her sights set on a third reign.
Asuka’s statements on social media have led to huge amounts of speculation suggesting that any number of former WWE stars could be returning. Dakota Kai, Scarlett and Karrion Kross have already come back to the company within the last two weeks.
However, one star who seemingly won’t be coming back to be Asuka’s partner is Mickie James. In fact, according to the woman herself on social media, she might not be returning to the ring at all.
No. I feel I’m done in wrestling. But you can #watchalong with me & @RealNickAldis tonight on @millionsdotco !!! https://t.co/AVOPZCLa5D

Mickie James began her career back in 1999, stepping onto the independent scene before making her way to IMPACT Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
The star signed with WWE in summer 2003, where she was sent to developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling. James made her main roster debut on the October 10th 2005 episode of Raw where he appeared as Trish Stratus’ biggest fan.
This led to a lengthy storyline between the pair which saw James win the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 22. Before leaving the company in 2010, she won the title on four more occasions, while also becoming Divas Champion.
After leaving WWE, James found tremendous success in IMPACT Wrestling where she became a three-time Knockouts Champion. The star returned to WWE in 2016, initially competing in NXT before moving to SmackDown and then Raw. James was famously released by the company in April 2021, with her belongings being sent back to her in a trash bag.
Upon leaving WWE for a second time, the former Women’s Champion served as Executive Producer for NWA’s first-ever all-female pay-per-view while also winning the IMPACT Knockouts Title for a fourth time.
Her last televised match for IMPACT came on July 14th, while her last match of any kind took place in France on July 16th for ABC.
