Mick Foley has noted the career parallels between Seth Rollins and Edge.
Both The Visionary and The Rated R Superstar have had very successful WWE careers. Multiple World Championship Reigns, Royal Rumble victories and iconic Money in the Bank cash-ins are just some of the notable achievements obtained by both Superstars.
Mick Foley Believes Seth Rollins Has Similar WWE Work Rate To Edge
One aspect that sets both Superstars apart from the rest of field is a great balance of character work and being able to back it up in the ring. Both Edge and Rollins could be ruthless killers in the ring, but also had a great ability to show off their comedic side when required.
Mick Foley detailed the comparisons between the two WrestleMania main eventers on Foley is Pod. During the conversation, Foley recognised both Edge and Seth Rollins’ ability to make magic out of whatever they were given:
“He reminds me of Edge. At the peak of Edge’s character prowess, where he just bit into everything, he did it with gusto. It didn’t matter how silly it was, he was going to make the very most out of it,” he said. “In the beginning, the new Seth Rollins seemed to be a little silly, and he just kept going with it, believing it. I don’t watch wrestling nearly as much as I used to, but I watch it enough to know that this guy is at a point where it’s the perfect marriage of in-ring talent and character.”
While Mick Foley never got the chance to have a match against Rollins, the rivalry between Foley and Edge is well documented. The two Hall of Famers famously fought in a Hardcore match at WrestleMania 22, which ended when Edge would Spear Foley through a flaming table.
In the same conversation, Foley revealed that Rollins has been taken for granted while portraying his Visionary persona.
