Earlier this week, we reported that WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley had tested positive for COVID-19 and had been self-isolating in a hotel over the Christmas period. The former WWE Champion has now provided an update on his health.
In a post on his personal Facebook page, the Hardcore Legend has revealed that he is no longer contagious so can now return home to his family. He went into detail about the symptoms he has experienced since being diagnosed, noting that they weren’t too serious.
“Fortunately, my symptoms were not too serious – body aches and headache for a few days, followed by loss of my sense of smell and just within the last few days, my hearing has been affected.”
It is well-known that Christmas is Foley’s favourite holiday, even going so far as to have a special Christmas room in his house which you can view in the video below. He was understandably upset to miss spending the holidays with his family this year, and said that was worse than the physical symptoms of the illness.
The former Cactus Jack said he had tried to his best to be safe during the pandemic, but thinks there were times when he might have let his guard down.
Still, there were several occasions where I could have been more careful. Moving forward, I will do my best to do better. I hope all of us can do a little better for as long as it takes to put this terrible pandemic behind us.
He went on to thank his fans for their well wishes and prayers, and finished on a positive note, saying he had been able to donate $5,000 for the Daniela Conte Foundation through work he had done on Cameo in December.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes sends Mick Foley our best wishes in his recovery.
