With Raw 30 now consigned to the history books, debate rages online over who appeared on the show and who deserved to but didn’t. One man who many had tipped to make an appearance was Mick Foley.
The Hardcore Legend enjoyed arguably the high point of his career on the red brand when he won the WWF Championship for the first time in January 1999. Outside of this, he also featured in numerous famous moments still fondly remembered by fans and shared in Raw video packages.
Despite this, the man himself was absent from the 30th-anniversary celebrations. While some wondered whether WWE simply hadn’t asked Foley, the former World Champion has moved to set the record straight.
Mick Foley Missed Raw Due To His Schedule
Writing on his Facebook page in response to a fan, Foley said that he had been asked to attend but “politely declined” citing his busy schedule.
“I’ve seen a few questions like this one asking why I will not be on hand for the big anniversary. I was definitely asked by WWE, and politely declined due to the hectic nature of my schedule. If I had not taken the past couple days off – and instead traveled to Philadelphia for the show – I would be on the road for 32 consecutive days. I have been working on a new project – which has been great fun, but also requires a lot of travel – and I just really needed a couple days off to relax and see my wife and children.”
Although Mick Foley missed the show, numerous other legends such as Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, D-X, The Undertaker, and more were in attendance. However, not everyone was happy with how the show episode went down. Taking to social media following the event The Bellas called out WWE for not featuring the Women’s Revolution. Nikki and Brie claimed that there were a number of women who the company didn’t want to feature including Mercedes Mone and Saraya.
