Damian Priest has made himself into a household name as part of The Judgment Day in WWE, and fans may be surprised to see photos of him as he made his way on the independent scene as Punishment Martinez.
Prior to signing with WWE in 2018, Priest underwent significant weight loss, shedding over 100lbs. Taking to Instagram, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley posted photos of the star prior to his signing and praised him for the dedication of such a drastic transformation. He also made it clear that he still has aspirations to join The Judgment Day, something he’s mentioned before. He even sent a hilarious video application to join the group back in March.
“I can hardly believe this is what @archerofinfamy used to look like. It barely even seems like the same guy!
Much credit and respect to Damian for this – and I’m not just saying that because I’m still holding out the slightest hope that I might one day join #TheJudgmentDay. 🙏🤞
…have a nice day!”
Damian Priest Faced Former Partner Bad Bunny At WWE Backlash In Puerto Rico
Hip hop megastar Bad Bunny has made no secret of his wrestling fandom, and at WrestleMania 37, he stepped inside the squared circle himself when he teamed with Damian Priest to help defeat the team of The Miz and John Morrison.
However, Priest’s demeanor had changed completely when Bad Bunny once again appeared in WWE in 2023. Priest and The Judgment Day have been embroiled in a bitter war with Rey Mysterio for months, and during the match between Dominik and Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania, Bad Bunny shockingly evened the odds to assist the elder Mysterio to victory over his son.
While Priest initially seemed conflicted about his former partner helping his foe, he soon made his allegiance to The Judgment Day clear, and Bad Bunny challenged him to a San Jan Street Fight at Backlash in WWE’s heavily-anticipated return to Puerto Rico.
The street fight was highly praised by fans and critics alike, and saw surprise appearances of both Carlito and Savio Vega. In the end, Bad Bunny was able to defeat Priest with help from the LWO.
It’s been reported that Bad Bunny could also feature at the upcoming SummerSlam in Detroit, MI.
