Mick Foley Calls On Tony Khan To Book A Rematch In AEW

Mick Foley

Mick Foley has called on AEW President Tony Khan to make a hotly anticipated rematch that would see two of the company’s leading ladies resume hostilities.

At St. Patrick’s Day Slam in March, Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Thunder Rosa met in a brutal Unsanctioned Lights Out Match. When all was said and done former NWA Women’s Worlds Champion Rosa picked up the win but it was the bloodied face of Baker that many fans remembered.

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley took to social media to badger Tony Khan into booking a rematch between the pair after posting a picture of himself and La Mera Mera after they met with Foley saying:

“THUNDER! What a pleasure to meet the true women’s #HardCoreLegend@thunderrosa22 Sorry @RealBrittBaker”

This then led to Baker telling Foley to “try again” and shared the now-iconic image of herself wearing the proverbial crimson mask during the bout with Rosa. Foley then followed that up by suggesting a rematch to Tony Khan and reminding the AEW Women’s World Champion who won the Lights Out bout:

“Last time I checked, Britt, it was @thunderrosa22 who picked up the W. Maybe a rematch is in order. @TonyKhan want to help settle this argument?”

Britt Baker then reminded Mick Foley that in his legendary Hell In A Cell bout with The Undertaker at King Of The Ring 1998 when he cemented himself as the king of hardcore after being thrown from and through the Cell that it was The Undertaker that won that match:

“So why is my face the one people remember? You lost Hell In A Cell, too. At least I kept my teeth.”

Mick Foley then conceded that the good dentist had a “valid point.”

Thunder Rosa last competed for AEW on the 29th of September edition of Rampage where she lost a Three-Way match won by Jade Cargill. Rosa is one of the fan favourites to become the newly introduced TBS Champion. The secondary women’s title was announced on Dynamite and celebrates the network that AEW programming is moving to in the new year.
