Michael Cole Calls Shawn Michaels “A D**k” For Past Attitude Problems

Shawn Michaels Triple H

Long-time WWE commentator Michael Cole has labelled WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels as a “d*ck” for some of his past behaviour while part of the company.

Shawn Michaels was at the forefront of the New Generation era during the mid-nineties in the then-World Wrestling Federation. The Heartbreak Kid innovated the ladder match, achieved his boyhood dream, lost his smile, screwed Bret Hart, and was knocked out by Mike Tyson during a unique run that saw him go from clean-cut boy toy to abject degenerate.

Behind the scenes, Michaels had built a Kliq to preserve his place at the top of the company and his behaviour at this time as well as his issues with drugs are well documented.

Speaking on an episode of the new Ruthless Aggression documentary series on the WWE Network and Peacock, Michael Cole gave his take on HBK’s attitude during the halcyon days of the Attitude Era:

“The Attitude Era Shawn Michaels wasn’t a character. That was Shawn. He was a d*ck.”

Cole also commented on the modern-day Shawn Michaels who is at the forefront of helping the next generation of wrestling stars at NXT:

“Shawn will do anything that he needs to do to ensure that sports entertainment goes forward.”

Shawn Michaels’ long time friend Triple H has also discussed a solemn promise he made to Michaels’ mother ahead of HBK returning to the ring at SummerSlam 2002.
