Sami Callihan wasn’t the only big return at IMPACT Wrestling’s Under Siege event, as released WWE Superstar Mia Yim is back in the fold.
IMPACT Wrestling’s 2022 Under Siege event saw the surprise return of Mia Yim, who saved Taya Valkyrie from a post-match attack courtesy of Deonna Purrazzo. Taya had just successfully defended the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against ‘The Virtuosa’.
Laredo Kid had inadvertently spoiled her return by posting a video to social media from the venue that displayed a new entrance video wall for the former RETRIBUTION member. Per Fightful Select, this will not be a one-off appearance, as Mia has re-signed with the Anthem-helmed promotion. The exact length of her deal is unknown.
Mia Yim previously competed with IMPACT under the alias of Jade between 2015 and 2017, where she enjoyed one reign as their Knockouts World Champion as well as being their 2016 Queen of the Knockouts. She ultimately departed the company in early 2017 after losing a Last Knockout Standing match to Rosemary.
Yim is arguably best known for her work with WWE, where she was signed between 2018 and 2021. Primarily competing in NXT, ‘The HBIC’ found success within the black-and-gold brand, challenging for the NXT Women’s Championship on a number of occasions, while also enjoying well-received matches against the likes of Bianca Belair and Dakota Kai.
The Californian was ultimately released from the company on 4 November last year, having been absent from television for months after RETRIBUTION – where she infamously was a member under the name of RECKONING – disbanded. She’s since remained very selective of her independent bookings, wrestling just twice since being let go.
There’s currently no word on what, exactly, IMPACT has planned for Mia Yim.
