AEW has confirmed Mercedes Mone’s next TBS Championship opponent.
Toward the closing stages of the 4th December episode of Dynamite, Anna Jay defeated Penelope Ford in a singles match to pick up her eighth singles win since September. However, after the match, Jay shared an intense face-to-face moment with the current TBS Champion.
Questioning Jay’s chances of getting a shot at the title, Mone claimed that she has not done anything to face her for the TBS Championship. However, fans immediately witnessed Jay knock down Mone and stand tall in the ring.
Soon after, the Jacksonville-based promotion confirmed a TBS Championship match between Mercedes Mone and Anna Jay in two weeks at the upcoming Dynamite Holiday Bash episode on 18th December.
Mone’s last title defence was against Kris Statlander at the Full Gear PPV. Going solo now, she is also reportedly done with Kamille as her muscle.
Kamille Addresses The End Of Her AEW Partnership With Mercedes Mone
After repeated insults and humiliation, Kamille recently walked out of her partnership with Mercedes Mone on the Thanksgiving Eve episode of Dynamite. In a recent interview with MuscleMan Malcolm, she addressed her current situation with the former WWE star.
I think you saw my response on Wednesday. I’m a pretty patient person, I’m a pretty forgiving person. But sometimes, enough is enough. I’ve also learned that if you don’t have something nice to say, better to not say anything at all. So I thought instead of showing how angry I was physically, just better to walk away.”
