Mercedes Mone is a big fan of her boss, Tony Khan.
Ever since his arrival on the wrestling scene Khan has been a polarizing figure but Mone, who joined AEW earlier this year is fully behind the billionaire president.
While appearing on the Battleground podcast, the current TBS Champion spoke about Khan, praising his generosity and how she gets to learn from him on a weekly basis.
“He’s an awesome billionaire. I get to learn from him every single week and just how he gets to treat people alone. Legit leaving the arena, he’ll say bye to every single worker that’s working backstage. He is just the most amazing person ever, and just him as a boss alone is just great. You can see that when you watch AEW. It’s just the best company ever, and the best wrestlers just want to be here.” h/t Fightful
Mercedes Mone Wants An All-Women AEW Weekly Show
In the same interview, Mercedes Mone opened up on the possibility of hosting an exclusive women’s weekly AEW show. She commented:
Wow, a weekly show, absolutely. We have the talent, so why not? All Elite Women’s Wrestling? There you go. We have the best women’s wrestling. From Willow, Mariah May, Toni Storm, Serena Deeb, Kris Statlander, Kamille—there’s definitely an opportunity to have an all-women’s show every single week, so I don’t see why not.”
During his time in WWE, Mone was a part of the women’s exclusive PPV Evolution in 2018. The show saw superstars of past and present compete in a series of matches such as Trish Stratus and Lita vs Mickie James and Alicia Fox, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Natalya vs The Riott Squad, and Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing match.
