Mercedes Moné meets Beast Mortos’ family during an AEW show.
The newest wrestling couple, Mercedes Mone and The Beast Mortos, were in action at the recent AEW Grand Slam Mexico. The former defeated Zeuxis for the CMLL World Women’s Championship to claim her sixth title. Meanwhile, Mortos won in a tag team match with the Death Riders and The Young Bucks against The Opps, Swerve Strickland, and Will Ospreay.
Despite the busy day, the couple still shared a personal moment backstage. In an Instagram post, which included a photo of the AEW star’s family and Mercedes, Beast Mortos shared a lengthy statement expressing his delight at being able to perform in “the cathedral of wrestling” after more than a decade away.
He was also happy to have his mother, nephews, and son watch him for the first time at a big event in a location like the Mexico City Arena. After thanking Tony Khan and Salvador Lutterot for hosting the event, he thanked his “special person” and the fans for the support.
“I also want to thank my special person who came into my life as a beautiful blessing and who was also there to support me. And of course, I’m grateful to all the fans who are always there supporting me.”

Mercedes Mone Wants To Be Involved In A Match With The Beast Mortos
Mercedes and Beast Mortos confirmed their relationship on June 17. However, it seems like Mone is also interested in bringing their pairing inside the ring.
In a May 2025 interview with Variety, Mercedes Mone shared that she wanted to be involved in either an inter-gender or mixed tag team match. Among the male stars she named is The Beast Mortos.
“I definitely want to have an inter-gender match or a mixed tag match. I think people like [Speedball] Mike Bailey, Ricochet, Swerve [Strickland], Komander, The Beast Mortos, [Kazuchika] Okada, there’s just so many men that I would love to team up with and fight against. Dream matches are endless in AEW.”
