AEW star Mercedes Mone shared her thoughts on Naomi’s momentous victory at WWE Evolution 2025.
Mone (formerly known as Sasha Banks) and Naomi had a long history of association, starting from Team BAD (Beautiful And Dangerous), when they were with Tamina Snuka. A couple of years later, the duo won the WWE SmackDown Women’s Tag Team Championships in 2022.
While they shared the victory together, they also shared setbacks as they infamously walked out on WWE RAW due to creative differences with Vince McMahon in May 2022. They were then suspended, relinquishing the tag titles in the process, and left the company eventually.
Despite being on separate paths now, Mercedes expressed her elation at the recent milestone of Naomi on X (fka Twitter). The CEO showed her approval of the latter’s title win by posting Bryan Danielson’s Yes Chant GIF.
“Proceed with caution,” she tweeted.

Naomi shocked the world by cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase to challenge for the WWE Women’s World Championship. She wiped out Rhea Ripley and delivered a split-legged moonsault on champion IYO SKY.

Before delivering the upset and shocker of the year in the main event of Evolution, Naomi battled arch-rival Jade Cargill in a No Holds Barred match.

Even though the 37-year-old lost to The Storm, it didn’t stop her from pulling off arguably the most shocking WWE moment of 2025, similar to what Seth Rollins did at WrestleMania 31.
