Since leaving WWE last year Mercedes Mone has been very busy. Not only has she appeared for NJPW and STARDOM in the U.S. and Japan but she has also been honing her craft as a movie star.
After she landed a role in the Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian as Koska Reeves it seemed inevitable she would pursue further acting roles and a new movie trailer featuring Mone was recently released.
The former IWGP Women’s Champion took to social media to share an image of herself from the trailer of the upcoming movie called The Collective. Mone appears in the trailer for the movie alongside stars such as Ruby Rose, Don Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, and Lucas Till.
According to IMDB, the movie is based around a mysterious agency of assassins attempting to shut down a human trafficking ring. Mone plays the part of Nikita, who by the looks of it, is a badass assassin with a penchant for knives.
Mercedes Mone Is Recovering From Injury Suffered At NJPW STRONG Resurgence
Mone is currently on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during the main event of the NJPW STRONG PPV.
Mone was facing Willow Nightingale in the tournament finals to be crowned the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion. Toward the end of the match, Mone took a nasty spill to the outside where the injury occurred.
The injury reportedly meant the winner of the match had to be changed on the fly, which in turn altered multiple plans going forward such as a possible appearance at Forbidden Door in a match against Saraya.
At the time of writing, there are still no details on the timescale of her recovery but the star has since undergone surgery and on June 12th posted an image on Instagram of her foot in bandages with the caption “Day 6 recovery”.
