After much speculation, Mercedes Mone has finally revealed her relationship status.

Current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone, also known as Sasha Banks, has opened up on her current relationship status. In a recent statement to TMZ Sports, the CEO confirmed herself to be in a relationship with fellow All Elite Wrestling star, The Beast Mortos.

The speculations began after Mortos uploaded an image of them together on Instagram with the caption, “en tus brazos encuentro paz” which translates to “In your arms I find peace” in English.

Soon, Mone spoke to TMZ Sports and confirmed the rumors about their dating. The current champion stated,

“A real beauty and the beast situation.”

However, it is still unclear when the couple came together. The news came out roughly a year after she filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Sarath Ton, after spending eight years together. Mone and Ton had been separated for years but share no hard feelings.

Following her AEW debut last year, Mone won the TBS Championship and is also the 2025 Owen Hart women’s tournament winner, and is scheduled to face Toni Storm at All In 2025.

On the other hand, The Beast Mortos is a multi-time champion outside the Jacksonville-based promotion, and is also a former nurse and veterinarian. Currently, attending law school, he is also on his way to becoming a lawyer.

Mercedes Mone Responds To Higher-Ups Who Cautioned Her From Joining AEW

In the recent edition of Mercedes Mone’s Mone Mag newsletter, she disclosed an incident where she was warned against joining AEW by an unspecified higher-up.

“Growing up, WWE was everything to me. I never imagined my life without it. But over time, I’ve come to realize that it’s not WWE I can’t live without; it’s pro wrestling itself. I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the person who sparked this journey for me. Because of that pivotal moment, my life changed for the absolute better.

Not a day goes by that I don’t feel grateful for that decision. It pushed me to new heights, matured me into a strong-willed CEO, and empowered me to take control of my life and future. I’m especially thankful for all my fans who have stood by me throughout this journey.
I want to remind you all: when something doesn’t feel right and you start receiving signs from the universe, listen. I’ve been working on sharing my story, and trust me, when the time comes, it’s going to be one for the books.

I remember a higher-up once telling me, “The grass isn’t greener on the other side.” Well, let me tell you—every seed I’ve planted over the years is growing and flourishing like never before. Becoming the highest-paid women’s wrestler is a beautiful flower that has blossomed, and I couldn’t be prouder.

Keep chasing your dreams because no one will stop mine.”
