Mercedes Mone Addresses Possible WWE Return: “New Dreams”

Current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has opened up on her WWE return.

In 2022, Mone parted ways with WWE. After having creative disputes with the management and Vince McMahon, Mercedes Mone and her then tag-team partner Naomi left the promotion.

After months of absence, she arrived on the Japanese wrestling circuit before finding her way into Tony Khan’s AEW. Currently, one of the biggest names on the roster, the CEO recently addressed her return to her previous promotion.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, she shared her feelings on a WWE return. The current champion shared:

After the way that AEW has been treating me, I don’t know. I don’t think so. I feel like I have the best relationship with AEW right now, and it’s legit, I’m living my dreams and it’s the best place I’ve ever been mentally and physically. To be able to have new dreams after being in the industry for 14 years, it’s the best feeling in the world, so AEW is my home right now.”

As one of the top stars on Khan’s roster, Mone is unlikely to return to the Stamford-based promotion. She has recently spoken highly of Tony Khan and the treatment she receives from the promotion. Despite her fondness for the Jacksonville-based promotion, she recently voiced her concerns for an upcoming WWE decision.

Mercedes Mone Concerned Over Upcoming RAW Decision

RAW is scheduled to turn into a two-hour show from October 7th after a 3-hour duration for 12 years. In her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes Mone voiced her concern for the women’s roster because of the pending hour cut.

Now, let’s talk RAW. Word is that it’s dropping from 3 hours to 2, and honestly, I’ve got mixed feelings about it. I’ve always loved having that extra hour because it gives more performers a chance to shine. Losing that time could mean fewer opportunities for the roster. It’s hard enough for talent, especially women, to get TV time.”
