Here is what Mercedes Mone has to say about her hilarious birthday mixup by AEW.
On November 17th, fans from all over the globe were taken aback when All Elite Wrestling wished Mone ‘Happy Birthday’ on a random date. Mistaking Mercedes Martinez’s birthday for the CEO’s special day, the promotion dropped a social media post and wished the TBS Champion.
While The CEO’s birthday is on 26th January, she started receiving wishes a couple of months early. Addressing the hilarious mixup, she recently opened up about it, in the latest edition of her Mone Mag newsletter.
This week started with a hilarious surprise! I woke up to a flood of birthday messages and was completely confused. Turns out, AEW had posted a happy birthday shoutout for me! For a moment, I felt like I’d slipped into a multiverse—was it really my birthday? I was so tired that I had to double-check Twitter to make sure. Once I figured it out, I couldn’t help but laugh. It was such a fun and unexpected way to start the day!”
The mistake was soon rectified on social media, as Martinez received her special graphic on X (Twitter). Mercedes Mone is now scheduled to defend her TBS Championship against Kris Statlander at the Full Gear PPV.
Mercedes Mone Heaps Praises On Boss Tony Khan
AEW President Tony Khan is known for his friendly nature compared to WWE’s previous chairman Vince McMahon, who was recently charged with allegations of a hostile workspace. During her appearance on Battleground podcast, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone heaped praises on Tony Khan, and complimented his generosity.
He’s an awesome billionaire. I get to learn from him every single week and just how he gets to treat people alone. Legit leaving the arena, he’ll say bye to every single worker that’s working backstage. He is just the most amazing person ever, and just him as a boss alone is just great. You can see that when you watch AEW. It’s just the best company ever, and the best wrestlers just want to be here.
