A new report has revealed that a member of WWE’s Board of Directors has stepped down.
There has been a lot of news regarding what the WWE Board of Directors will do following the bombshell sexual allegations made against Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. The board members have begun investigating the matter while McMahon has formally stepped down as CEO. Now, another person high up in the WWE ranks has also stepped down.
According to Fightful, Connor Schelle has resigned from his position on the board. The resignation was revealed in an SEC filing on July 6th and is said to be “due to an increased slate of responsibilities resulting from his new, expanded role at the newly formed The North Road Company.”
On July 6, 2022, Connor Schell resigned from the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (the “Company”), effective immediately. Mr. Schell resigned from the Board due to an increased slate of responsibilities resulting from his new, expanded role at the newly formed The North Road Company, a global, multi-genre content studio. Mr. Schell’s decision to resign from the Board was not due to any dispute or disagreement with the Company, its management or the Board on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices.
The Wall Street Journal was the first outlet to break the news of McMahon’s bombshell $3 million ‘hush money’ payment to a former WWE employee. It was then reported that Laurinaitis was put on administrative leave and that Bruce Prichard would take his place as Head of Talent Relations.
Since the allegations were made public, McMahon has made surprise appearances on episodes of Raw and SmackDown.
