A new report has claimed that former WWE star Melina was prevented from appearing at WrestleCon over WrestleMania weekend.
The report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider via PWInsider Elite revealed that the incident occurred after the star attended SmackDown. It was claimed that when Melina returned to the WrestleCon hotel she was “acting out in a very loud manner.” She then got into an argument, which according to one source turned into a physical altercation.
As things continued to escalate, hotel security intervened and the former Women’s Champion was ordered off the premises and not allowed to return for her scheduled signing at WrestleCon.
When Did Melina Last Wrestle In WWE?
Melina began training back in 2001 and auditioned for the third season of WWE Tough Enough in late 2002. While she didn’t immediately find success in the competition, the would-be star continued her wrestling journey and debuted in WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling in early 2004.
The star made her main roster debut later that year, before going on to reprise her role as manager of MNM — Johnny Nitro (Morrison) and Joey Mercury. She had previously managed the pair in OVW.
While managing the duo to tag team gold, the star embarked on her own singles run, eventually winning the Divas Championship twice and the Women’s Title once.
Melina left WWE in 2011 and headed out onto the independent scene later making appearances in NWA and IMPACT Wrestling. The former Women’s Champion made a surprise WWE return at the 2022 Royal Rumble.
