WWE has confirmed that legendary Japanese wrestler Meiko Satomura is NXT UK-bound!
Following Kay Lee Ray’s calls to face the Best In The World having been a permanent fixture atop NXT UK’s Women’s Division for over a year, the NXT UK Women’s Champion’s call has been answered.
Reports emerged in October that Satomura, now 40 years old, was set to join NXT UK as a coach and in-ring talent, and WWE finally made it official on tonight’s NXT UK.

Satomura has competed in WWE before, wrestling in the Mae Young Classic. The legendary Japanese wrestler also participated in some coaching at WWE’s Florida-based Performance Center. At age 17, Satomura even appeared on WCW television.
Over 23 years later, Satomura is widely regarded as one of the best in the world, with SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks making no secret about her desire to compete in the ring against Satomura. However, it looks like Satomura will at the very least be taking on one of WWE’s other champions first.
No date has been confirmed for Satomura’s NXT UK debut as of yet. Here at Inside The Ropes, we will keep you updated with the news of Satomura’s in-ring WWE return as and when it’s available.
