Meiko Satomura is set to join NXT UK as a coach and in-ring talent, according to a report from Tokyo Sports.
Satomura, now 40, announced at the Miyagino Ward Cultural Center Tournament that she will be limiting participation in Sendai Girls, therefore missing events on November 22nd and November 29th.
Satomura has competed in WWE before, wrestling in the Mae Young Classic. The legendary Japanese wrestler also participated in some coaching at WWE’s Florida-based Performance Center. At age 17, Satomura even appeared on WCW television.
Recently, Satomura and new SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks have expressed mutual desire on social media to compete in the ring against one another.
While Satomura and WWE have not confirmed the move, Tokyo Sports is one of the leading sports newspapers in Japan, and has previously broken news of Kairi Sane and Io Shirai moving to WWE, and even of Meiko Satomura being scheduled to compete in the Mae Young Classic back in 2018. Tokyo Sports also recently interviewed Kairi Sane following her return to Japan.
