Japanese legend Meiko Satomura has won the NXT UK Women’s Championship defeating long-reigning champion Kay Lee Ray.
The Scottish Superstar had been champion for 649 days prior to being pinned by Satomura. Kay Lee Ray beat NXT star Toni Storm to claim the belt in August 2019.
Meiko Satomura initially challenged for the belt back in March, ultimately coming up short. However, the Japanese star was not to be denied a second time.
Both women put everything on the line in what has been described as a match of the year contender. While Ray refused to stay down, Satomura took control late in the contest as her strikes began to overpower the champion. The finale came with Ray near defenceless, as Satomura hit Scorpio Rising to win the championship in stunning style.
