The Acclaimed’s Max Caster has discussed the high praise he and Anthony Bowens received from WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry when Henry said the pair were Tony Khan’s second-best decision.
The Acclaimed has become one of AEW’s hottest acts since the team of Anthony Bowens and ‘Platinum’ Max Caster was put together by Tony Khan in October 2020, with both men signing 5-year deals with AEW the following month.
“We want the titles. I think we are in line to get those, there’s no team that’s more loved than us, there’s no team that looks better than us, there’s no team that gets a better reaction than us when we step into the arena.”
“I’ll say this, this is my favourite compliment that we ever got. Mark Henry told us that the best decision Tony Khan ever made, besides starting AEW, was putting The Acclaimed together. That is my favourite compliment I ever got,” he said. “It gave me so much confidence when he said that.”
Caster also picked the number one team he hopes himself and Anthony Bowens can face again in AEW as he hopes to avenge an earlier loss:
“The Young Bucks, they’re on my list again this year of teams I want to wrestle because the first time we wrestled them we lost. But we had one of our best matches ever, and we almost won the titles, our tenth match in I think it was. So, there’s a lot that we have to prove that we want to revisit and go back to.”
The Acclaimed were the number one ranked tag team heading into the 9th of March edition of Dynamite. The team took on AEW World Tag Team Champions Jurassic Express in a title match but came up short with Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus retaining their gold.
