Matt Riddle gave an exclusive interview on Raw to update fans on his injury status ahead of Clash at the Castle.
Riddle and Seth Rollins have been at odds as of late on Monday Night Raw, and the two were scheduled to face off in singles action at SummerSlam. However, on the go-home episode of Raw, Seth Rollins attacked and it was reported that the Original Bro had suffered a storyline brachial plexus injury as a result.
However, despite claiming that he wasn’t medically cleared to compete, Riddle made a surprise appearance at SummerSlam to confront Rollins and the two brawled in lieu of their scheduled match. It was reported that “creative adjustments” led to the match’s cancellation.
Riddle was absent from the August 8th episode of Raw, but he made his return to the red brand on the August 15th episode to update WWE fans on his status. In his exclusive interview, the former Raw Tag Team Champion announced that he was medically cleared and that he wanted to face Seth Rollins at Clash at the Castle.
He then revealed that he wasn’t conducting the interview from his mom’s basement as he originally said, but he was actually backstage and about to run to the ring to attack Seth Rollins. Sure enough, Riddle ran out into the arena and brawled with the man who’d put him on the shelf.
