Matt Riddle has been at war with The Bloodline for months, ever since he and Randy Orton lost the Raw Tag Team Championships to The Usos last year.
Last December, after teaming with Kevin Owens to take on The Usos in a losing effort once again, Riddle was attacked by Solo Sikoa, writing him off television for months after being stretchered out of the arena. Following the incident, it emerged that Riddle was set to attend rehab after failing a second drug test.
Riddle returned to Raw the night after WrestleMania, confronting The Miz. He’s since found himself in an alliance with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn after they defeated The Usos to become the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.
Speaking on the most recent episode of WWE The Bump, Riddle opened up about his rivalry with The Bloodline, particularly Solo Sikoa. He says Sikoa is “just no fun” and takes advantage of people.
“Yeah, it is. Remember, before he hurt me, I brought some bongos out, and Jey was playing them, Jimmy played them a little bit. But Solo wouldn’t play them. The guy’s just no fun. He’s just frowning all the time. The worst part, like I said, he’s a bully. He takes advantage of people when they’re not expecting it, and he doesn’t play fair. The thing about ‘The Bro’, ‘The Bro’ plays fair. He plays rough, he plays tough, but I play fair.”
“I Can’t Always Be So Happy And Carefree” – Matt Riddle
Continuing, he admits that Sikoa is a thorn in his side, but has also taught him that he needs to find balance between feeling carefree and being taken advantage of by others.
“He does kind of put a thorn in my side. I think at the end of the day, I’m gonna put the beats on Solo this Saturday. But I think the one thing The Bloodline has showed me and Solo’s showed me that I can’t always be so happy and carefree and go-lucky. If I am, people take advantage of me. It’s just finding that middle ground.
“I don’t want to be too mean or too angry. That’s just not a good way to live life. But I also don’t want to be too nice and too giving because then people take advantage. So I just got to find the perfect bro. I don’t want to be a rude dude. You wouldn’t like the rude dude.”
Riddle is set to team with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to take on The Usos and Solo Sikoa at WWE Backlash on May 6th.
