Matt Riddle Gets His Name Back

One star looks to be back to his old identity as of Monday Night Raw!

In the continued story of WWE changes under Triple H’s new regime, former Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle looks to be back to his old identity according to the latest episode of Monday Night Raw.

Back in October of 2020, Matt Riddle became known simply as Riddle, joining the long list of stars who’ve lost either a first or last name as an edict from Vince McMahon. Even more changes would be made throughout 2021 and 2022, with the company shying away from using either performers’ real names or names that they’d used prior to signing with WWE.

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Riddle was scheduled to come face to face with his Clash at the Castle opponent Seth Rollins. However, footage from earlier in the day showed the two confronting each other in the parking lot. It appeared that they would have come to blows if not for the intervention of WWE personnel.

The interview between the two was instead conducted via a split screen, and to the delight of many WWE fans, the name graphic underneath the RK-Bro star said Matt Riddle, indicating that he’s regained his first name and further proving that the company has done away with their previous policy regarding Superstar’s names.

Earlier this month, Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza also regained their previous identities, having been known for a while as simply Angel and Humberto.
