Matt Riddle recently made headlines for arguably all the wrong reasons, and this may have led to negative publicity for Major League Wrestling. However, the booking could have also been made as a way to keep things fresh. Whatever the case may be, it certainly is a curious time for the promotion to take away the top title from The Original Bro, who had been the champion since January 2025.

On Instagram, Major League Wrestling shared a reel highlighting its recent show.
The wrestling company noted that Mads Krule Krügger was not scheduled to be in the match first. However, the 40-year-old managed to seize the opportunity by catching Matt Riddle off guard.
One of the wildest main events in MLW history ended with a new World Champion in Mads Krule Krügger, who wasn’t even scheduled to be in the match! And that was only the beginning of the chaos,” stated the caption of MLW’s Instagram post.

After defeating The Original Bro, Mads Krule Krügger took notice of the wrestling media that broke the news. He responded to one of them by taking to X/Twitter.
Perseverance is my scripture. Wrath is my gospel,” wrote Mads Krule Krügger.
Aside from Matt Riddle’s charity event controversy, where it was alleged that he kept the money, Riddle also fell into trouble after he made certain allegations about AJ Lee’s past behavior.
