Matt and Jeff Hardy are two of the most popular wrestlers from the past two decades. Both of them have legions of loyal fans that follow the brothers’ exploits and happenings outside of the ring as much as the inside the ring ones.
And because Jeff has been through such a tumultuous year, his brother Matt Hardy has been providing updates on his status whenever possible.
Matt and Jeff Hardy trying to move past legal issues
Jeff Hardy hasn’t been seen since he was arrested in June for DUI in Florida. After his arrest was made public, AEW suspended him indefinitely and the only updates on his status have been coming from his brother Matt.
On a recent edition of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt provided an update on Jeff’s situation. However, Matt’s exact wording was a bit ambiguous as he didn’t state anything explicit on what exactly is going on with his brother:
“He’s basically been doing the same thing he’s been doing. He’s doing exactly what he needs to be doing to get where he needs to be in life. More or less, we’ve just got to get these legal issues behind him before we move forward, so that’s kind of where we’re at with Jeff, and we’re hoping that happens sooner rather than later.”
Prior to Jeff Hardy’s suspension, it was believed that the Hardys would be involved in a big tag team storyline. However, with Jeff suspended, Matt Hardy has had to adapt and do things on his own. Matt has been embroiled in a feud with Ethan Page and Private Party.
In another twist, Matt Hardy has also teased a possible return to his “Broken” alter-ego which became famous during his run with Impact wrestling.
