Matt Hardy has provided more information on Jeff Hardy’s AEW status and when his current deal is set to run out.
Although Matt has since departed AEW and remains a free agent while competing regularly in TNA, his brother Jeff remains All Elite and has not been seen since February 2024 when he suffered an injury in a match against Sammy Guevara, who was suspended for his actions in the match and has also not been seen since.
Back in April, it was reported by Fightful that Jeff Hardy’s contract was set to expire “sometime in the spring” but time could be added on due to injuries. According to his brother, The Charismatic Enigma could be a free agent in a matter of weeks.
Matt Hardy Provides Jeff Hardy Update
When asked for an update on Jeff on his Extreme Life podcast, Matt Hardy confirmed that his brother is cleared to compete but is waiting for the call to return to action. In addition to this, Matt revealed that his brother could become a free agent very shortly:
“He’s been cleared, he’s just sitting at home waiting on the call. Unlike me, he’s not someone who really gets out and makes things happen he just kind of waits on someone to call him. He sitting at home, just waiting on that phone call, jumping on the trampoline up and down with the dumb bells. But yeah, he’s got til like mid-June or so I think and then his deal is up. So I guess we’ll see if he ends up re-signing or not re-signing. Who knows?”
On a previous episode of his podcast, Hardy recalled being backstage for the disastrous match between The Undertaker and Goldberg in Saudi Arabia.
