Matt Hardy has updated fans as his brother Jeff continues on his road to recovery following his arrest on DUI-related charges back in June.
Jeff Hardy is set to appear at a pre-trial hearing on October 19th after being arrested in the early hours of June 13th 2022.
The star was was pulled over and arrested by Highway Patrol Officers after the vehicle he was driving had been “swerving” and “running off the road.”
After being pulled over, Hardy was arrested and according to Volusia County jail records, was charged with Driving While License Cancelled/Suspended/Revoked, Violation of Restrictions Placed on Drivers License, and DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years.
Following the incident the former World Champion was suspended by AEW without pay, and entered a rehabilitation program in an effort to banish his well-documented demons.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio where he addressed his own battle with addiction, Matt Hardy commented on the health of his brother, explaining that all he wants is for Jeff to be healthy.
“I just want him to get better, even if Jeff never wrestles another day in his life,” Matt said. “I want him to be healthy, and it’s important for him to be healthy and happy, because he has two beautiful daughters, he has a very loving wife who has stuck by his side through thick and through thin, and the most important thing I want for my brother is for him to be healthy.”
When asked how Jeff was doing, Matt revealed that he appears to be doing well, and is making progress.
“He seems to be doing really well,” Matt said. “The conversations I’ve had with him have been really, really good, and the most important barometer, I think, of all these things, is that his wife Beth is super happy with his progress and where he’s at in life, and I think that’s probably most important.”
It was recently reported that Jeff Hardy isn’t expected to return to AEW until his legal issues are resolved and he had proven he can maintain his sobriety.
