Matt Hardy has spoken out about the TNA Bound For Glory confusion and has teased another collaboration in the future.
Headlining the biggest show of the year, Matt and Jeff Hardy competed in a Full Metal Mayhem match with the Tag Team Championships at stake. Turning back the clock 20 years, The Hardys emerged victorious in the match and were once again the top tag team in TNA. Although fans were happy with how the match ended, the same could not be said for another title match that took place that night.
Given that it was TNA’s biggest pay-per-view, many were expecting it to be headlined by the World Championship match between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry and for Hendry to be the victor given the breakout year he has had. However, with the match going on second to last, there were concerns over what the result would be. Unfortunately, the fans’ fears were true as Hendry once again failed to win the big one.
Speaking with Stephen Muelhausen of Sports Illustrated, Hardy stated that he was made aware of the rundown and understood why the show took place in that order:
“I was given a heads-up ahead of time. They explained the scenario and the breakdown of the show. Obviously, you want your show, especially a big show of the year, to go off on a high note if possible. The order in which they put things made the most sense, as far as sending the crowd home happy at the very end.”
At the Emergence special earlier in the year, The Hardys teamed up with Hendry for a tag team match that featured a collaborative mash-up of their signature entrances. Discussing Hendry in the interview, Hardy teased that there might be more to come:
Speaking of Joe Hendry, someone who I’m a massive fan of. We’ve become friends over our time together in TNA. I think you will see a lot more collaboration between the Hardy’s and Joe Hendry going forward. I think it would be pretty amazing if we ended up being a little bit of a faction in TNA, especially with us as the tag champions and him as the world champion. I think that would be a hot combo.
As fans know, all Hardy has to do is say Hendry’s name and he will appear…
Recently, Joe Hendry has gained his biggest believer yet as The Great Khali came to his aid at an independent show.
Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy To Remain In TNA
Along with the interview, Stephen Muelhausen also broke the news that The Hardys had re-signed with TNA and would remain a part of the promotion for the foreseeable future. Following the news breaking, more information came to light regarding The Hardy’s TNA deals.
