Matt Hardy believes that Jeff Hardy will eventually find his way back to All Elite Wrestling.
Jeff Hardy’s future has been the subject of much speculation since his DUI case was officially closed in February. Hardy submitted a written plea of nolo contendere to all charges. This is where a defendant agrees to accept punishment but does not accept or deny responsibility for the charges brought against them.
The star had been arrested on June 13th and suspended by AEW without pay. Following the incident, Hardy entered a rehabilitation facility.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy said that he’s of the opinion that the former WWE Champion wants to redeem himself. Furthermore, this quest for redemption will lead him back to AEW.
“My gut thinks he wants to, my gut thinks he wants to redeem himself. It’s not going to be instantaneous. Once again, we haven’t talked about stuff, and he’s still having, he’s taking care of some physical issues that he’s been dealing with right now. So I think, I don’t think we’ve seen Jeff appear on AEW television for the last time.
I think we’ll see it again. In what capacity? I’m not sure of that right now I can’t speak [on that], but I do think he wants to redeem himself. I think that’s very important to him. He’s looking for redemption.”
When Did Jeff Hardy Last Wrestle?
Jeff Hardy signed with AEW in March 2022 and immediately reunited with his brother. Outside of the Hardy Boyz reunion, Jeff competed in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament where he clashed with Darby All in a death-defying No Disqualification Match.
Hardy hasn’t wrestled since teaming with his brother Matt at AEW Double or Nothing on May 29th, 2022.
The pair had been due to win the AEW World Tag Team Titles but these plans were scrapped due to his arrest.
