Matt Hardy has been discussing how he’d like The Hardys to take on Edge & Christian one last time.
Recently on the August 3rd, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, Matt Hardy took on Christian Cage in a match that gave fans of the WWE Attitude Era a nostalgic look back at wrestling’s past. The late 1990s and early 2000s were full of Hardy Boyz vs Edge & Christian matches, with the Dudley Boyz also being a part of a three-way rivalry that took the tag team division by storm and gave the initials TLC new meaning.
Today, Edge remains with WWE, while Christian Cage, Matt Hardy, and Jeff Hardy are signed with AEW. Jeff Hardy is currently away from the company after his recent DUI arrest, but hope remains that he will make a return to the company.
Speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, Matt Hardy was asked to name one member of his generation that he would like to see make the jump to AEW, to which he named WWE Hall of Famer Edge, also mentioning he’d like to do Edge & Christian vs The Hardys one last time:
“You hear this all the time, but people say if the stars and planets align, you know, my brother comes back, everything’s good, I hear people say all the time, oh my god, we’d love to see Edge come and do one last Hardys vs. Edge and Christian. That would be a pretty magical moment,”
Looking back on his career in the ring, Hardy named the first time the Hardy Boyz won the WWE Tag Team Championships as one of his favourite moments:
“I mean I feel like our biggest moment out of the first decade is probably gonna be winning the tag team titles because that was our initial goal. If we did that, we did everything we ever wanted to do. But fortunately, we did that exponentially. We did it many, many times in many, many different promotions, which is very cool. So that was a big moment there,”
Christian Cage has recently been involved in a feud with his former partner Jungle Boy, with Luchasaurus in the middle of the two. You can watch how the feud develops this week on AEW Dynamite and AEW Rampage.
