Matt Hardy has discussed how he keeps up with his brother Jeff now the former 9-time WWE Tag Team Champions are once again in different companies.
Matt and Jeff made their eagerly awaited return to WWE as a team at WrestleMania 33 in 2017. As surprise entrants into the ladder match for the Raw Tag Team Title, the brothers made use of their experience in that environment to claim the championship.
Before their return, both men had at different times worked for both TNA and Ring Of Honor. Their last match before WrestleMania 33 came one night before their WWE return. They lost the ROH Tag Team Championship in a Ladder War to The Young Bucks.
Speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri of ET Canada, Matt Hardy lifted the lid on how much he and Jeff keep in touch now their careers have diverged once more.
“We always text each other before the shows. It’s ‘Hey, man, are you on tonight or when you are or what are you doing?’ We just kind of keep up with it. I don’t think there’s any competition any longer. I think we’re just both supportive of one another. So it’s cool. We’ve almost done it enough where there was a point where I was in WWE and he was in TNA. Or he was in TNA and I was in ROH. I mean, we’ve kind of done this before. So it’s kind of an old hat in some ways. But we’re now more than ever just supportive of one another.”
Matt debuted on the March 18th edition of AEW Dynamite and was originally planned to be on The Elite’s side in Blood and Guts. That match never took place as a result of the pandemic however, Hardy did team up with the Elite in the Stadium Stampede. Currently Matt Hardy fronts The Hardy Family Office, where he manages Private Party alongside The Butcher, The Bunny, and The Blade.
