One of the most iconic moment of Matt Hardy’s thirty-plus-year career was the spectacle known as “The Final Deletion”. That “match” has become synonymous with Matt, to the point that he has tried to replicate that first one’s success both in TNA/IMPACT and in WWE.
And while both of those later interpretations of the original failed to hit the same high notes as the original, Matt Hardy hopes this next attempt will.
Per a report from the Wrestling Observer, Matt Hardy announced that there will be a “Firm Deletion Match” that will take place on the Hardy Family Compound, which is the same location of the original Final Deletion match.
A date for this new match has yet to be announced.
Matt Hardy announced Final Deletion-like match to take place on his family’s compound
This announcement stems from Hardy’s ongoing feud with The Firm. This stable was created back in 2022 and has included Hardy, Stokely Hathaway, Ethan Page, W. Morrissey/Big Bill, The Gunns, Lee Moriarty, and Private Party.
However, dissention within The Firm led to implosion and Hardy has since split off from the stable. He has also gone on to recruit Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) and Hook to his side, and was recently saved from a beat-down by his brother Jeff, who made his return to AEW after several months of dealing with personal and legal issues.
The official Firm Deletion match will see Matt and Jeff Hardy, Hook, and Isiah Kassidy take on the team of Big Bill, Lee Moriarty, Ethan Page, and Stokely Hathaway.
